Color management is the ability to reproduce consistent, predictable and repeatable color across an entire range of devices; so that an image you see on your monitor can be reproduced accurately on other monitors, and by devices to which you send it to print as well. Simple in theory; sometimes maddeningly difficult to achieve in practice.
But despite the frustrations you may have encountered, it is achievable. Not only is it achievable, it's also explainable in English and it really does make sense.
You may have tried some aspects of color management in the past and gotten frustrated. You may be using a profile here and there and having some measure of success but just know it could be better. Or you may have downloaded some profiles and tried them and they made things worse then not using them at all.
But the fact is that if you do it all, from first file to last print, the results of color management will be spectacular. |
